Talk terpes to me! 😏⁣⁣ ——————————————————-⁣⁣ To wrap up our focus on terpenes we’re bringing you some information on Linalool (pronounced li-nal-oh-all). ⁣⁣ ———————————————————⁣⁣ Terpenes are currently being studied incredibly close in order to better inform the industry on the effects of them. As such, the information and subsequent effects of each individual terpene have not been completely identified. It’s an exciting time with a load of research and experimentation going on and we are incredibly blessed to share it all with you!⁣⁣ ———————————————————⁣⁣ Linalool is a terpene that is identified by its floral aroma, it shares an incredibly similar scent to Lavender which makes it quite easy to identify in strains. Even further, Linalool has been identified in over 200 plants unrelated to Cannabis! Science has shown that just through food consumption you will consume over two grams of Linalool annually. 🥗🥪⁣⁣ ———————————————————⁣⁣ Linalool isn’t as potent of a terpene as others, but it can be easily recognized in the storied strain of Zkittles. Linalool has been studied and has been linked to a reduction in anxiety and lower depression type behaviors. ⁣⁣ ———————————————————⁣⁣ Let us know if you like our posts on terpenes and if there are any more you’d like us to cover in the future! 💜⁣⁣ .⁣⁣ .⁣⁣ . ⁣⁣ #cannabis #canadiancannabis #vatic #vaticco #yqr #yqrlocal #shoplocal #shoplocalyqr #regina #saskatchewan #sask #pilotbutte #whitecity #emeraldpark #marijuana #cannabis #saskcannabis #legalcannabis #cannabiscommunity #cannabisculture #canadacannabis #weed #cannabiseducation ⁣⁣

A few days ago we posted some general information about “Terpines”. Not only were you all excited about it, but so were we, so excited that we managed to even misspell it. Just to poke fun at ourselves today we will be bringing you some information about the Terpene Pinene! ⁣ ———————————————————⁣ As a fresh reminder, terpenes are the oils in a cannabis plant that give it its unique profile of scent, flavors, and effects. ⁣ ———————————————————⁣ Pinene is a terpene that is commonly found in cannabis and many strains, and as you can guess, it has the familiar aroma of pine trees. It is actually the most commonly found terpene in the natural world. ⁣ ———————————————————⁣ Just like how THC and CBD can provide different effects when consuming cannabis, so can terpenes. Pinene’s effects have been attributed to aid in: anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, and even some pain relief. All of the effects of terpenes are still being heavily studied, but above all each individual consumer will have their own unique experience. ⁣ ———————————————————⁣ Terpenes can be found in many household products too, it’s important to remember that it’s not just a scent! Pinene can be found in pine needles, rosemary, and basil just to name a few. As far as strains go Pinene is found heavily in Blue Dream and many others!⁣ ———————————————————⁣ Tell us what your favorite strain with Pinene terpenes is! 🌲

Terpenes are oils secreted from the same plant glands as THC and CBD. They are responsible for giving the cannabis plant its distinct taste & smell ranging from citrus, berry, mint, cheese, and pine.⁣ _⁣ However, terpenes are more than just taste & smell. They also may play a key role in differentiating the intoxicating effects from strain to strain. Some terpenes may promote relaxation and stress-relief, while others may cause more mental focus and alertness. More studies are being done to bring a better understanding to just how powerful the influence terpenes have.⁣ _⁣ There are over 100 different terpenes that have been identified in the cannabis plant, and every strain brings a unique terpene composition. Myrcene, for example, is associated with relaxation and is found in strains such as Blue Dream and Granddaddy Purp. Terpinolene is associated with uplifting, active strains and is found in Jack Herer and Ghost Train Haze. ⁣ _⁣ Research is showing that the terpene profile of a strain may influence the effects and subsequent potency of a strain more than the perceived THC percentage. ⁣ _⁣ Many cannabis analysis labs and LPs test for terpene profiles, so a better idea of the effects of a strain can be known. But with potentially unlimited combinations of terpenes, there are exciting new research opportunities in the scientific and medical terrain.⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #cannabis #canadiancannabis #vatic #vaticco #yqr #yqrlocal #shoplocal #shoplocalyqr #regina #saskatchewan #sask #pilotbutte #whitecity #emeraldpark #marijuana #cannabis #saskcannabis #legalcannabis #cannabiscommunity #cannabisculture #canadacannabis #weed #cannabiseducation

Sativa and Indica. You’ve heard these two names used, but what do they mean for your experience? ⁣ ———————————————————⁣ Sativa and Indica are terms used to describe the type of strain you are consuming, but not the name of the strain itself (i.e. Pink Kush, Alien Dawg, Sensi Star, etc.). ⁣ ———————————————————⁣ Indica based strains will provide mental and physical relaxation and have been an aid in increasing appetite and decreasing nausea. A fun way to remember what an indica based strain will provide for you is by thinking of it as “in-da-couch”. Indica’s can provide a heavy body experience and are a fan favorite to use after dinner leading to a deep sleep. ⁣ ———————————————————⁣ Sativa based strains will provide an elevated mental experience and act as an aid in sparking creativity or focus. Sativa’s can provide users with a euphoric or cerebral experience unlike what one might experience with an indica. Sativa strains are typically used at any time of the day as they can allow users to feel more engaged in conversation or their task at hand. ⁣ ———————————————————-⁣ When it comes to picking your strain type there is no right or wrong answer. Most users should experience each strain type (and even each unique strain) at their own pace and take note of the effects and experiences that occur. ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #cannabis #canadiancannabis #vatic #vaticco #yqr #yqrlocal #shoplocal #shoplocalyqr #regina #saskatchewan #sask #pilotbutte #whitecity #emeraldpark #marijuana #cannabis #saskcannabis #legalcannabis #cannabiscommunity #cannabisculture #canadacannabis #weed #cannabiseducation

THC and CBD are both cannabinoids derived from the cannabis plant. They each have a different purpose and effects that may influence how you consume.⁣ _⁣ THC is a psychoactive cannabinoid that stimulates cells in the brain to release dopamine which can deliver a mind-altering euphoric, happy, and relaxing experience. It has been shown to treat nausea, appetite loss, insomnia, and more. However, THC can have negative side effects including anxiety, paranoia, and dizziness. On average, effects kick in 5-20 minutes after ingestion and last 2-4 hours.⁣ _⁣ CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that can deliver a clear-headed, functional experience without the euphoric high associated with THC. CBD is a great choice for someone who is very sensitive to the side effects of THC. CBD can also be used to medicate pain, inflammation, and anxiety throughout the day.⁣ _⁣ Balanced THC/CBD products will be more psychoactive than a CBD only product, but will be much less likely to induce negative side effects. Strains like this tend to be effective for pain management while providing a mellow buzz.⁣ _⁣ With the combined benefits of both THC & CBD, individuals new to cannabis may find that a balanced strain in both can work synergistically to provide a calm, enjoyable experience. More experienced users however, may gravitate to the more THC-heavy strains for maximum effects.⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #cannabis #canadiancannabis #vatic #vaticco #yqr #yqrlocal #shoplocal #shoplocalyqr #regina #saskatchewan #sask #pilotbutte #whitecity #emeraldpark #marijuana #cannabis #saskcannabis #legalcannabis #cannabiscommunity #cannabisculture #canadacannabis #weed #cannabiseducation ⁣

Cannabis Legalization 2.0 ————————————————— On October 17, 2019 the second round of cannabis product legalization in Canada occurred. New regulations for cannabis edibles, topicals, and vape pens came into effect. ————————————————— While there are a lot of questions about what’s going to be available, we are here to inform you about what we know today.👇🏽 ————————————————— Edibles is an umbrella term for cannabis infused products including gummies, chocolates, cookies, beverages, and more. Topicals are lotions, balms, and oils also infused with cannabis. Vape pens involve concentrated cannabis oil and the subsequent heating of the oil that turns the active cannabinoids and terpenes into vapor. ————————————————— However, according to Health Canada, products won’t be available on shelves until December (at the earliest). ————————————————— BUT WHY? Beginning on October 17th, 2019, licensed producers can begin submitting their edible, vape pens, and topical products to Health Canada. Those products will then undergo a 60-90 day approval & procurement process. After the results have been reviewed and the product has successfully met the standards that Health Canada requires the product will be approved for sale to the retailers(us). ————————————————— Comment below with any questions you might have about these products or this round of legalization!
